Specific Information

bulletChamberre is designed for adults (over 18). Anyone under 18 wishing to participate will need to have a parent or guardian write to us.
bulletTo ensure some minimum level of skill, we usually require any new applicant to be recommended by a past Chamberre participant. If you do not know any prior Chamberre participants, but would like to come, please write to us giving us some idea of your experience level in chamber music playing.
bulletIt is always difficult to end up with the right balance of players. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee acceptance, even if your application arrives before we have filled the accommodations. Late applications are always subject to space available and player balance.
bulletWe cannot offer discounts for people that do not choose to stay at Rocky Ridge. However, if you choose to stay in a neighboring motel on the understanding that there will be no discount, that is entirely acceptable to us.
bulletWe cannot accommodate "drop in" participation. It makes the logistics of session assignment that much more difficult, and is not equitable to the paying participants.
bullet"Chamberre in the Rockies" is a limited liability corporation and does not have tax exempt status. If you choose to make a donation to the Rocky Ridge Music Library - which is used by Chamberre - or the Rocky Ridge Foundation, to benefit the Summer Music School, Rocky Ridge does have tax exempt status.
bulletThe Rocky Ridge facilities are somewhat primitive (although very comfortable). The pathways are rocky and quite steep, and could be a problem to navigate at night for some people (little or no lighting on most of them). Accommodations are communal, with separate quarters for ladies and men. We try to accommodate special requests - closeness to lodge, cabin bathrooms, etc. - but can make no guarantees.
bullet"Chamberre in the Rockies" carries some liability insurance during Chamberre, and Rocky Ridge has its own general insurance. However, neither insurance covers musical instruments. You should make sure that you are adequately covered before arriving.
bulletOn the attendance application form is included a disclaimer we require you to sign, agreeing that neither "Chamberre in the Rockies" nor Rocky Ridge Music School is responsible for any accidents, injuries, etc. that you might experience while attending Chamberre.
